South Africa’s Longest Running MTB Race – Join The MOVEMENT!

The Steeltek MTB Race first took place in 1990, making it South Africa’s longest running marathon distance MTB race.

It is one of 4 official annual Fat Tracks MTB Club races, and was conceived as being a tough marathon distance MTB race specifically designed to test the endurance of riders.

This year we are moving the event to a new location at the Van Stadens Wildflower Reserve. It will retain the distance offerings of a tough 60km for the stronger and more experienced riders, and those that aren’t so strong can opt for the slightly less tough 35km route.

We will also have a real easy 20km route for those that don’t feel up to the longer distance challenges.

General Race Information

Pre-entries are online only, and will close at 12 noon on Friday 8 November.

Late entries & registration will take place at Coimbra Cycle Shop, cnr Villiers Rd and 6th Ave Walmer on Fri 8 November from 4 – 6:00pm and on the morning of the race from 6:00am.

King & Queen Of the Mountain will each win a set of CONTI MTB tyres.

You are strongly encouraged to register online to assist with minimising administration on the day.

A late entry fee of R50 will be charged on the day.

This is a CSA sanctioned event. Non CSA members in the 35km & 60km races will be required to purchase a temporary day license for R35, and all entrants MUST be familiar with CSA rules which can be found here.

VERY IMPORTANT – NO HELMET, NO RIDE!!!

Medical assistance will be available but any medical conditions must be completed on the entry forms.
